Keramas is known for producing powerful, fast-breaking waves over a shallow reef. While the wave can be enjoyable under the right conditions, it is generally recommended for intermediate and advanced surfers due to its speed and reef bottom.

Getting to Keramas Beach

Keramas Beach is located in Keramas Village, Blahbatuh, Gianyar.

If you’re coming from Ubud, the drive usually takes around 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic. A common route is:

Ubud → Jalan Raya Goa Gajah → Jalan Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra → Jalan Pantai Keramas

Parking is available near the beach entrance, with several surf camps and local warungs nearby.

Before You Surf

To enjoy a safer session, remember to:

• Check the surf forecast before paddling out.
• Wear reef-safe sunscreen.
• Bring enough drinking water.
• Respect the local lineup and surfing etiquette.
• If you’re new to surfing, consider taking lessons at beaches with gentler waves before attempting Keramas, surfing Keramas.

Relax at Simalu Kopi After Surfing

After spending time in the water, many surfers head inland before continuing to Ubud or other parts of Gianyar.
